In-Home Support &
Community Participation

Daily living support, personal care, and community engagement for participants who live independently or with family — delivered by qualified support workers with a clinical team available when it matters.

You don't need to be in a supported living arrangement to receive quality care. Whether you need a few hours of support a week or structured daily assistance — we build a plan around your life, not the other way around.

Two Ways In

Whether You're a Participant or a Coordinator

This page is for both of you. We know you're reading it differently — so we've written both paths clearly.

👤 For Participants & Families
Support That Comes to You
You live in your own home or with family. You want support that fits your routine — not the other way around. We match you with a support worker who suits you, build a schedule around your life, and make sure you always know who is coming and when.
  • Choose your support worker — we match by personality, communication style, and cultural background
  • Flexible scheduling — hours that fit your daily routine
  • Multilingual support available — ask us about your language
  • If a match isn't working, we address it — we do not ask you to make do
  • RN available for participants with clinical needs in their home
📋 For Support Coordinators
A Provider You Can Rely On
You need a provider who shows up, communicates clearly, and doesn't create extra work for you. We staff each participant's plan with qualified support workers, report back to you at agreed intervals, and escalate to our clinical team when something changes.
  • Qualified, trained support workers — not casual agency fill
  • Regular written updates at agreed intervals — you are not left chasing us
  • Clinical escalation available — our RN is accessible when a participant's needs change
  • Participant-led planning — we follow the participant's plan, not a template
  • Consistent worker allocation — same support workers where possible

The Nurse Aid Difference

How We Compare

Not all in-home support providers are the same. Here is what separates a qualified, clinically-backed team from a general agency.

Qualified Workers. Clinical Backing. Consistent Care.

Most in-home support agencies prioritise coverage over consistency — filling shifts with whoever is available. Nurse Aid allocates the same support workers to each participant wherever possible. You know who is coming. They know you.

Every Nurse Aid support worker is trained, reference-checked, and allocated with your specific needs in mind. For participants with clinical needs, our Registered Nurse is accessible at any hour — not just during business hours.

And when your needs change — because they will — we adapt the plan with you, not after the fact.

Feature Generic agency Nurse Aid
Consistent support workers Varies ✓ Same workers where possible
Cultural & language matching Rarely ✓ Multilingual team
RN accessible when needed Not typically ✓ 24/7
Clinical support at home Separate provider ✓ Integrated
Regular coordinator updates On request ✓ Scheduled, proactive
Plan adapts as needs change On review date ✓ Ongoing clinical review
Community Participation

Staying Connected Matters

Social connection is a health outcome. We help participants stay engaged in the community — not just maintain daily routines at home.

Community Participation Is Part of the Plan

Community participation is not an afterthought in a participant's support schedule. We work with each participant to identify the activities that matter to them — and build community participation into their regular plan as a structured goal, not an occasional extra.

For participants who have become isolated over time, re-entering community life takes support and confidence. Our workers know how to guide that process at the participant's own pace.

"I just wanted to say a big thank you to Prince and the entire care team for all the wonderful care and genuine kindness they provide 24/7. Since Ian moved into supported care, I can't help but feel forever grateful. It's not just the high standard of care — it's the genuinely respectful way every carer looks after him."

Frequently Asked

Questions From Participants, Families & Coordinators

We provide in-home support and community participation services across Greater Adelaide. Contact us to confirm availability in your specific suburb — our coverage area is expanding and we may be able to accommodate new participants in areas not currently listed.
Yes. We match participants with support workers based on personality, communication style, and cultural background. We also have multilingual staff available — ask us about language when you contact us. If a match is not working, we address it. We do not ask participants to make do with a worker who is not the right fit.
Supported Independent Living (SIL) is for participants who live in a Nurse Aid home and receive 24/7 supported living. In-home support is for participants who already have their own living arrangements and receive scheduled support visits in their own home or community. Both are funded through the NDIS. If you are unsure which applies to your situation, call us — we will help you work it out without any pressure to choose a particular option.
Yes. Our community nursing and clinical care capability extends to in-home settings. If a participant requires clinical procedures — medication management, wound care, catheter care, or other nursing support — in their own home, our Registered Nurse team can provide that as part of their support schedule. This is an important option for participants who want to remain living independently but have clinical needs that require qualified nursing oversight.
In-home support is funded under the Core Supports budget in your NDIS plan — specifically Assistance with Daily Life and Assistance with Social, Economic and Community Participation. The amount depends on your individual plan and assessed support needs. If you are unsure what your plan covers, your Support Coordinator can help you understand your funding. Contact us and we can talk you through what is typically available for a participant with your support needs.
Use our referral form or call us directly on 1300 413 663. We need the participant's name, their support needs, their NDIS number if available, and your contact details. We respond within one business day. For participants with clinical needs, our intake coordinator will arrange a brief call with our clinical lead to discuss what level of support is appropriate.
